David Andrew Berry was born and raised in Milwaukee and Racine, Wi. He grew up in a Christian household, thanks to his mother, though he is now and has been agnostic and spiritual. He credits his creative ambitions to his mother having him in choir in church and his father and brothers, playing the devil on his shoulder, having him exposed to hip-hop music, funk, pop, jazz, rock, R&B, alternative and in playing instruments in band.
His artist name is Don Numen J. Blackwell and he is actively writing new music and trying to develop his unique sound. He's inspired by rappers that sing.
He serves in the Navy, so everyone calls him "Berry".
