Jonathan Halperyn is the founder of Hero Squared Productions in Budapest, Hungary.
Hero Squared (and boutique arm Love Cubed) offers producing and production service solutions across both Hungary and Croatia (and beyond). Via his network of some of the industry's most well-known banks, sales agents, private equity, and agency
partners, he helps attach financing, sales, distribution, and ATL elements to film and TV projects.
He recently served as a producer on Brandon Cronenberg's Infinity. Pool (US distribution by Neon)
starring Alexander Skarsgard, which received Eurimages and Croatian HAVC funding as a Canada-Hungary-Croatia official co-production.
Upcoming releases include Bryan Fuller's Dust Bunny, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver, for Lionsgate.
Released in 2022 were UK-HU co-production Mrs Harris Goes to Paris (global sales by eOne) starring
Lesley Manville and Isabelle Huppert, and Rob Zombie's The Munsters for Universal's 1440
Entertainment.
Prior releases include Archive (produced and global sales by Independent Film Company) starring Theo
James, Stacy Martin, and Toby Jones as well as SAS: Red Notice (global sales by Altitude) starring Sam
Heughan, Ruby Rose, Andy Serkis, and Tom Wilkinson. Previously he served as an executive producer on
TV series Ransom, which aired on CBS in the US, with global sales by eOne.
As an executive at both Focus Features International/an NBCUniversal company (New York City and Los
Angeles) and Korda Studios (Budapest), his 20 years in media and entertainment have focused on finance,
financial planning, individual film modeling, P&L's, international sales and distribution, and physical
production.
Jonathan holds an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business, and is a member of the European Film
Academy, the Producer's Guild of America, and BAFTA.
