Michael Luwoye is most widely known for his turn in the role of Alexander Hamilton in Hamilton on Broadway. He is also the only actor to ever play the roles of Burr and Hamilton on Broadway on the same day. He went on to join the leading cast in Bluff City Law, opposite Jimmy Smits on NBC. Antoine Fuqua then pegged Michael for a supporting role opposite Will Smith in Emancipation. He ventured out to the UK stage to star in the role of Nelson Mandela in Mandela, (a new musical), on the West End. Michael received a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical for his earlier work in The Invisible Thread, playing the role of Jacob, a Ugandan dreamer. Spike Lee requested Michael for his Netflix series, She's Gotta Have It and has then participated in numerous recurring roles on television for Showtime, SyFy, Netflix Fox, and HBO. He is a theater graduate of the University of Alabama.
