Did you know

The scene of Tarzan (Elmo Lincoln) fighting and killing the lion was a real one. The lion became annoyed at having its tail pulled and attacked Lincoln, who was forced to fight for his life and managed to kill the animal after stabbing it several times. The scene was left in the film.

Reduction positive prints (16mm) of the feature film and the Artclass 1928 re-release versions exist in the UCLA Film and Television Archive film archive, in the Library of Congress film archive, in the International Museum of Photography at George Eastman House film archive and in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences film archive. It has been released in a ten-chapter restored version.
