A rare (and one of the last) silent imports distributed by Warner Brothers' newly acquired First National subsidiary.

A copy of this now lost film was in the French Cinematheque but was taken to Germany during the Nazi occupation of France. It received its last known showings by German film clubs around 1945-6. The actor Gerard Philipe and his wife were sent in 1955 to Russia and in 1957 to China to look for another copy, in vain.
