• The first American troops killed in the Vietnam War were shot during a screening of this film in Bien Hoa on July 8, 1959. After a soldier turned on the lights to change reels, Vietcong guerrillas fired into the building, killing Major Dale Buis and Sergeant Chester Ovnand.
• Charleen Reston's sports car is a 1954 Plymouth Belmont, a concept car that never became a production vehicle. It was intended to compete against the Chevrolet Corvette and the Ford Thunderbird, had it gone into production. This was the only prototype made. It has a fiberglass body with a Dodge 241 cu. in. V8 engine producing 150 horsepower. The color was a silver-blue metallic. It was later painted red. This car can also be seen in Bundle of Joy (1956) and Mister Cory (1957). In 2014 it was sold at auction for $1.32M.
• The Hollywood Reporter review mistakenly states that 'The Tattered Dress' , a black-and-white film, was shot in Technicolor. A 27 July 1956 an HR news item adds Carol Morris to the cast, and a 22 August 1956 HR news item states that Frankie Van was cast as a news reporter, but their appearance in the final film has not been confirmed.
