• This series is lost.

• One unfortunate side effect of moving from radio to TV was that Peter Brough's propensity to move his lips as Archie talked was made even more apparent in close-ups; consequently these were reduced as the show continued. Another was that camera tricks used to 'sell' the idea that the doll was a real boy - such as Archie's occasionally having real people's limbs for movement, and later a middle-aged midget as a body double - lent the series a macabre and unsettling look, even though Associated-Rediffusion had had Archie's features remodelled to look more realistic.
