Did you know

• John Carpenter has said that this film, with its creatures hidden in the clouds, was partly the inspiration for his film The Fog (1980).

• The cloud effect was done by nailing a piece of cotton wool to a photograph of a mountain.

• It had been a 6-part TV serial before becoming a film, Laurence Payne and Stuart Saunders reprise their roles from the serial. In the original production, the creatures were called "Ixodes."
