Storyline

Pascal (Lino Ventura) sells newspapers. He is a simple man who one day resting on the banks of the Seine sees a drowning stranger. Pascal saves his life and begins his adventure next to a man who says his wife wants to intern in a madhouse. No good deed goes unpunished.

Did you know

• The bridge where Lino Ventura rescues Robert Hirsch is the Pont de l'Alma. It was rebuilt in the early 1970's. Only The Zouave statue remains of the original bridge. The bridge is near the Pont de l'Alma tunnel where Diana the Princess of Wales died in a car crash on 31 August 1997.

• The title of the film refers to the address of the Messageries de la Presse in Paris where the newspaper sellers came to take the newspapers.
