• After the series ended, the production company kept King because they thought they might do a spin-off with Velvet's little brother Donald and his Shetland pony Tiny. A pilot was shot, but it didn't sell.
• In 1962, King and the rest of the horses from the series were sold to Bob Frisch, whose family owned the Bob's Big Boy restaurants.
• Lori Martin did most of riding in the show, but for some of the big jumps, like water jumps and things, they used a double.
