Did you know

The film depicts five Trojans entering the horse. In the original story 40 warriors went into the horse. Obviously the budget here would not allow for a prop that size.

Submitted to the British Board of Film Censors (as The Wooden Horse of Troy) by Grand National Pictures and passed with a "U" certificate on 24 April 1962. Opened in London on Sunday, 19 August 1962 at the Essoldo (Chelsea), the Odeon (Finchley) and the Gaumont (Islington), followed by a wide general release the following day. For light relief, Grand National selected She Knows Y' Know (1962) starring Hylda Baker as the supporting feature. When video came along in 1983, UK distributor Inter-Ocean Video released the film on VHS as The Trojan War.
