Did you know

This series was widely seen as a parody of another 1960s sitcom centered on a maid, Hazel (1961). That Shirley Booth series lasted five seasons, however, while "Grindl" aired for only one.

In one episode the boss decides to flip a coin ("Heads for you, tails for you") between two of Grindl's fellow temps for a desirable position. When Grindl protests being excluded, he says, "Ok, it's you if it lands on its edge." The coin does in fact land on its edge. Two years before this unlikely occurrence was the basis for a memorable episode of The Twilight Zone, "A Penny for Your Thoughts."

Grindl's basic premise of a woman bouncing each week from temporary position to temporary position would be repeated with much greater success three years later in That Girl (1966). In that later show a perky young beauty, Marlo Thomas, replaced Imogene Coca's famous rubber face persona.
