Did you know
• An MGM musical remake of the original Girl Crazy (1943), starring Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. Keeps the George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin songs from the original movie, with updated arrangements.
• Girl Crazy (1943), the Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland movie of which this is a remake, had been a huge hit and returned a hefty profit to M-G-M. This version did not, and in fact its failure was a factor in the studio's decision not to pursue movie stardom for Connie Francis after this and two other Francis films bombed back-to-back.
• The first image after the semi-animated opening titles is the exterior of a building with a large sign out front reading "Annual Brooksley College Carnival." Though they've tried to disguise it by placing foliage out front to cover the M-G-M logo, it's actually the Irving Thalberg Building at the entrance to the studio back-lot (which has repeatedly been "cast" as hospitals, corporate office buildings and college structures) over the 100+ years the studio has been in Culver City).

Girl's Crazy Again
When the Boys Meet the Girls was a pretty entertaining update of the Gershwins' "Girl Crazy"
