• Ben's auto shop is west of Puente de Toledo ("Bridge of Toledo"), north of the Manzanares river in Madrid at approximately 40°24'3"N 3°43'0"W. The area has been developed so the building and the amusement park no longer exist.
• The Dune Buggy prize at the beginning of the movie was a Puma Gatto Spider Spiaggia. It was a classic dune buggy built over a VW chassis on which was mounted Volkswagen 1192 cc air-cooled engine, with a body made up of fiberglass panels. Puma was an Italian Kit Car manufacturer who modeled the Gatto Spider Spiaggia after the 1969 Autodynamics Desert Deserter.
