• This was the first ever contemporary feature film to be entirely shot in and around the city of Adelaide and its environs since the silent film era.
• One of two Australian movies both debuting in 1976 where the then child actor Robert Bettles played a character with a disease or disability. In Let the Balloon Go (1976) his character has poliomyelitis (aka polio and infantile paralysis) whilst in The Fourth Wish (1976) his character has terminal leukaemia.
• According to the film's closing credits, the movie's "music [was] played by the augmented University of Adelaide Wind Quintet."
