Did you know
• Audrey Hepburn was persuaded to take the role of Marian, in part, from the insistence of her sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti. Once the boys learned that Sir Sean Connery had been cast as Robin Hood, they begged their mother to take the part, so she could act with "James Bond". She happily complied.
• This movie could not be shot in England, because some of the major principals were tax exiles.
• Denholm Elliott's widow detailed some of what occurred during the production. She remarked that Sir Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn were perfectly manageable. It was Robert Shaw, Nicol Williamson, and Richard Harris who caused the tension, according to her book about her late husband. All hell would be let loose if and when all three actors would be alone together, sober or otherwise.
