ā¢ The show was moved to Saturday evenings at the start of its second season, and ratings dropped drastically. CBS put the show on hiatus in November 1987. When it returned in March 1988, it was moved to Tuesday nights. CBS pulled the plug in April, leaving the last 12 episodes unaired. They were finally aired when the show went into syndication two years later.
ā¢ Contrary to popular belief, the show was not canceled because of Rebecca Schaeffer's death. CBS canceled the show in May 1988 due to low ratings. Schaeffer was killed by an obsessed fan in July 1989.
ā¢ Like her character, Rebecca Schaeffer was from Oregon.
