Some of the music used in its episodes would later be used in SpongeBob SquarePants (1999) and Teacher's Pet.

First aired on the exact day and year as Rugrats (1991) and Doug (1991).

Series creator John Kricfalusi was adamant about Stimpy not having a thick dopey sounding voice commonly seen in dim-witted cartoon sidekicks, having already chosen Billy West to provide Stimpy's voice, West tested a variety of voices until John Kricfalusi finally settled on a Larry Fine type voice.
