Did you know
• The football footage, which shows two mock American football teams, the Stallions and the Elks, is excerpted from an actual Canadian Football League game shot in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Edmonton Eskimos. Interestingly enough, the CFL had a team called the Baltimore Stallions that played from 1993 to 1995. And, in 2021, the Edmonton Eskimos changed their name to the Edmonton Elks.
• This is the only episode in which Columbo himself is a witness to a murder he solves.
• The final Columbo by veteran writer Jackson Gillis who wrote several episodes of the 1970s series plus two of the 1990s revival. He also wrote several of the original Perry Masons.

A slightly different Columbo that doesn't follow the pattern
Tyne Daly steals every scene in which she appears
