• Brett Butler was dealing with addiction during production. She fought for creative control, resulting in five producers either quitting or being forced out in the five years the sitcom was on the air. Off-set, Butler appeared on David Letterman and claimed Walt Disney's last words were, 'Whatever you do, don't let the Jews get the place." (The sitcom aired on ABC, which had recently been purchased by Disney.) Butler's supporting cast soon grew tired of her expletive-filled rants and on-set breakdowns. Julie White quit, and Jon Paul Steuer's parents pulled him out after Butler flashed her breasts at the 12-year-old. ABC ended the show mid-season in 1998.

• Three different actors played Quentin: Noah Segan in the pilot, Jon Paul Steuer in the first three seasons, and Sam Horrigan in the last two.

• Many of Grace's former in-laws are named after famous Kellys in the entertainment world: Jean Kelly (a homophone for Gene Kelly), Emmett Kelly, DeForest Kelley, and of course, Grace Kelly.
