Storyline

When the Terran Confederation faces the possibility of humanity losing the war with the Kilrathi, Colonel Christopher Blair (Mark Hamill), who the Kilrathi have dubbed "The Heart of the Tiger", is summoned.

Did you know

• This game gives the player character the official name of Colonel Christopher Blair. The previous two games featured the same character, but his name was determined by the player. It has long been speculated that the name "Blair" was a contraction of "Bluehair", the moniker that was given to the main character on Wing Commander discussion boards. The program code also referred the player as "Bluehair", which became apparent if the game files were examined with a hex editor.

• Some re-releases of the game were packaged with a special "Making-Of" CD-ROM, which featured several hours of footage from the shooting of the live-action scenes. Highlights include co-star Thomas F. Wilson engaging in a mock lightsaber battle with Mark Hamill and several other cast members making fun of Hamill's Star Wars past. During one dramatic scene, Mark Hamill exits the room as scripted and once he's gone, Thomas F. Wilson turns towards the camera and says: "Isn't that the guy from Star Wars?"

• Some of the medal ribbons worn on the characters' uniforms are World War II campaign and service medals.
