• Bill Murray really bowled three strikes in a row in the scene where his character, Ernie McCracken does the same. The crowd's reaction is genuine and is actually for Murray. Woody Harrelson, on the other hand, was a terrible bowler and according to the Farrelly brothers maybe got one or two strikes throughout the filming.

• Peter Farrelly called the film's box-office failure the biggest disappointment of the Farrelly brothers' career, attributing the failure to its release during the 1996 Olympics. Farrelly said it was a crushing blow to their ego. However, he said that six to eight months later, when the film was released on home video, it became a big hit.

• Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly met with Michael Richards privately to discuss a role in the movie. However, the conversation didn't go particularly well, and there a disagreement arose between Richards and the Farrelly brothers. At one point, Richards excused himself to use the private bathroom in their office. After Richards didn't return from the bathroom after within half an hour, the brothers broke down the door to see if he was okay. That's when they discovered that Richards had climbed out the window and left.
