Did you know
⢠Kevin J. O'Connor added the line where he asks if a person can "suddenly get asthma"
⢠Joey Pantucci originally was killed by one of the sea monsters in an earlier cut of the film. However, after preview audiences expressed dissatisfaction about Pantucci's death a reshoot was done in which Pantucci is still alive at the end of the movie.
⢠The island that the survivors become stranded on at the end of the film is more than a simple nod to King Kong and Skull Island. It was actually intended to be a lead-in to a King Kong reboot which also would have been directed by Stephen Sommers. In the late 1990's, an idea for a modern day Kong reboot began making its way through Hollywood Pictures. It was to be a response to the rather poorly received Godzilla (1998) by Tri-Star Pictures, which was released that same year. The idea was initially picked up, and Sommers, already attached to the upcoming Mummy reboot, expressed a strong interest in becoming involved with the project. The reboot wound up in "Development Hell" and eventually was passed on to other studios, becoming the basis for the 2005 remake by Peter Jackson.

Are we talking some kind of mutated sea monsters here?...
Fun! (...and nothing more)
A great B movie from the late 90s.
