Did you know
• A continent-wide search for the rolling chassis of the car pulled from the river toward the end of the film, by a group calling themselves The Ken Carter Appreciation Society. They can be found on Facebook.
• When Ken Carter is on the phone with a promoter about being "the first civilian astronaut in space" he is re-enacting the phone call for the camers. His finger is on the cradle as the dial tone kept distracting him.
• The ramp seen in the film was labeled an eyesore and a public liability by the Morrisburg locals. It stood for a few years until finally being dismantled in 1983. The steel supports seen in the film now sit at the Cruickshank Construction company yard, the soil ramp was trucked away and used in the construction of a nearby pier. The several homes were built where the ramp stood, but the flat paved runway still lies disused and overgrown in the same farm field as seen in the film. The runway starts just south of highway # 2, and ends north of lakeshore drive, west of, and parallel to Hanes Road.
