• There's an unreleased Director's Cut of the film before it was heavily edited for the theatrical release. Unfortunately, due to blockage from the studio Metro-Goldwyn Mayer, director David Nutter was unable to get it released. Nutter once showed the original unaltered cut to the horror film journalists at Fangoria Magazine, who praised it over the theatrical version.

• In late 1990's there was a workprint of director David Nutter's original 115 minute version of the film floating around, but sadly unlike many other workprints from that time, any copies of it disappeared and none was ever found again.

• In the movie, the janitor has a copy of Slaughterhouse Five. Ironically, Vonnegut has famously noted, in real life, that this novel was burned by a janitor through an order from an over bearing school board over its unwholesomeness.
