• "Lord Buckethead" attempted to promote his movie in the UK by standing as a prospective MP for Parliament in both the 1987 and 1992 General Elections. Representing the "Gremloid" party (by which this movie is known in the UK) he stood against Margaret Thatcher in her Finchley constituency and somehow got 131 votes. Five years later in 1992 he stood against the then PM John Major in Huntingdon and got 107 votes. In 2017, 25 years later, he stood again against then PM Theresa May in Maidenhead and got 249 votes.
• Director Todd Durham challenged the political candidate Lord Buckethead over the right to the name, requiring Lord Buckethead to rechristen themselves as Count Binface. A separate candidate called Lord Buckethead, a member of the Monster Raving Looney Party and with the support of Durham, then announced his candidacy for the same parliamentary seat as Binface. Both will stand against incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson
• This was the sixth and final 3-D film produced by the producer Earl Owensby's Owensby Studios in the 1980s.
