Did you know

• Shabana Azmi was the original choice to play the role of Shashi Kapoor's wife. After a scandal about an alleged affair between them broke out, Shashi's wife Jennifer forbid him from ever working with her and Rekha was signed for the role instead.

• Amrish Puri stated stated that Shashi Kapoor did not want him in the film. Shashi kept telling Govind Nihalani that Amrish's image went against the character. Govind kept insisting Amrish be in the film. Finally Shashi gave in.

• The "senior pilots of the Indian Air Force" who are credited with providing assistance with the aerial photography were drawn from No. 4 Squadron, IAF ("The Fighting Oorials"). It was their MIG-21Bis' that were used in the aerial combat sequences and much of the film was shot at their then base in Poona/Pune.
