Did you know
⢠The fact that the first half of this game takes place before the events of Resident Evil 2 (1998)], and the second half takes place afterwards, makes Resident Evil 3 both a prequel and a sequel at the same time.
⢠The Design for the Nemesis was originally a rejected design for the Tyrant 02 (better known to some fans as Mr. X) in Resident Evil 2 (1998)
⢠Producer Shinji Mikami was originally against calling this game "Biohazard/Resident Evil 3". He felt that Resident Evil - Code: Veronica (2000), which advanced the story more than this game did, was the "true part 3", and that Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) should be called "Biohazard 1.9" or "Biohazard 1.5". However, Capcom decided that since Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) had been specifically developed for the PlayStation (just like its predecessors Resident Evil (1996) and Resident Evil 2 (1998)), it should have a number in the title to maintain continuity. Since Resident Evil - Code: Veronica (2000) had originally been developed for the Sega Dreamcast, it was given a subtitle instead of a number to differentiate it from the main series (even though it was still part of it).
