Did you know
• The TV special is based on the premise that the Monkees have been living in their beach house in all the years since the TV series was cancelled and have continued having adventures. This one is Episode #781.
• In this TV special, Davy is still the heartthrob, Micky is still the wacky one, Mike is still the level-headed one, and Peter is still the dummy, just as they were in the TV series. It promotes the then-new Monkees album Justus and gives a wink at 1960s merchandising.
• The theme song for the TV special removed the "we're the young generation" chorus from the TV series' version of the song. In its place, the lyrics from the second verse of the song were sung. The second verse appears on their debut LP from 1966 and has the same melody as the "Here we come" first verse, but for the TV special the chorus melody was used.
