• The song Juan refers to several times during the film is Rita Pavone's 1976 hit "Il Ballo del Mattone" from the LP "Come te non c'è nessuno", written by Eduardo Verde and Bruno Canfora. As for the film in which the song is supposed to be in, no reference is found but, by correlating dates it could only be "Due sul pianerottolo (1975)"
• This movie has an US and Indian version. The US version is called Criminal (2004) starring John C. Reilly, Diego Luna and Maggie Gyllenhall. The Indian version (made in Hindi) is called Bluffmaster!(2005) starring Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Ritesh Deshmukh.
• At the final scene, the viewer discover that the wealthy Spaniard who bought the Nine Queens is an Argentinian con man, and not a "gallego" businessman. But, in fact, the actor was Ignasi Abadal born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. For a person born and raised in Argentina would had been difficult to speak with Spanish accent for a long time without being noticed by fellow countryman.
