Film maker J. Om Prakash always chose Laxmikant-Pyarelal for doing music in his movies. For this movie his son-in-law, Rakesh Roshan's brother, Rajesh Roshan composed the music. 'Dushman na kare' went on to become a big hit and attain cult status. It was superbly picturized on an expressiver Smita Patil and charismatic Rajesh Khanna in a special role.

One of the very few films where Kishore Kumar did not sing for Rajesh Khanna. One song was rendered by Amit Kumar and the other by Mohd Aziz.

This was the first film of J.Omprakash with Smita Patil and Tina Munium. The second was Aap Ke Saath & Bhagwan Dada respectively.
