• This special was originally a proposed concert film titled "The Illustrated George Carlin". It was to feature animated segments interspersed with Carlin's stand-up. But Carlin ran over budget and the segments were discarded. Carlin eventually used this idea in George Carlin: Carlin on Campus (1984).
• Includes a short behind-the-scenes footage of George getting ready to go out on stage.
