Takashi Miike has said that this is the only film that has frightened him as an adult.

(at around 44 min. into the film) The shot of a woman leaping off the side of a building is a relatively simple combination of careful editing, computer graphics, and stunt work. As director Kiyoshi Kurosawa explained it, a stunt-woman was filmed bungee jumping off the rooftop, followed by a dummy dressed in the same clothes; the two shots were then edited together and the bungee cord was digitally deleted.

(at around 16 min. into the film) As Kawashima starts going over footage of people in the computer screen, he comes across a bearded man who looks up and stares directly at him. That man is Kiyoshi Kurosawa, writer and director of this film.
