• This event marked the WWE pay-per-view debut of the New World Order, a faction that originated in WCW and was made up of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Because Vince McMahon had purchased WCW a year earlier, he owned the copyright to the nWo name and signed the three wrestlers to re-form the group. The storyline was that the nWo had played a major part in WCW's "destruction", and that Vince was using them to destroy the WWF because he couldn't buy the other 50% of the company back from "co-owner" Ric Flair.
