• The manga that the anime is based on had a big influence on the Dark Souls (2011) video game series.
• Sci-Fi channel and Cartoon Network both were interested in airing the series. However Media Blasters warned them the violence and sexual content would require too many edits in order to obtain a TV-14 rating
