• Despite all the safety precautions, Guy Pearce was bitten on the shoulder by one of the more temperamental tigers. He later admitted that "it hurt but I thought it was pretty cool to get bitten by a tiger".
• All the tiger noises are genuine. Tigers are naturally quite vocal and make an array of different sounds.
• Animatronic tigers were used in any scene that might involve any real risk to the actors. Five full-size adult tigers were built for the film.
