• Submitted to the British Board of Film Censors by Regal Films International on 24 March 1964 and passed with an "A" certificate. Previewed in London at the British Lion Private Theatre on 31 March 1964 (11 am for press and trade only). After a number of dummy runs in the provinces (Liverpool's Scala from 21 June 1964, then Newcastle's Stoll the following week, etc), the film opened in London at the Prince of Wales (ABC), Harrow Road from 21 September 1964. Regal selected The Louisiana Hussy (1959) as the supporting feature in most places, including the Republic of Ireland where, for reasons of discretion, the main feature was billed as The Shame of the Sabine Women.
