• It was during the making of the film Rakesh Roshan grew very fond of Jaya Pradha. It was stated that he may have fallen in love with her. While doing the film, he signed her for his home production Kaam Chor.
• Rakesh Roshan saw the Telegu original and knew it was a heroine oriented film. But he still signed it because he knew it was a good film.
• Rati Agnihothri was offered the film but rejected it. She did not want a supporting role to Jaya Prada. This really hurt Rakesh Roshan. Yogita Bali was then signed .
