Storyline

When anarchy prevails and the screams of the downtrodden become lifeless, a saviour is born to eliminate the tyrants and put an end to their immoral activities. Surajbhan (Mukesh Rishi) is the name of one such despot and Shantinagar is the base of his illegal activities. D.C.P. Shrivastav (Mohan Joshi) and Inspector Thapar (Shiva) are hand-in-glove with him. Krishna (Sunil Shetty) is a victim of Surajbhan's atrocities and has returned from jail after serving a sentence. He learns of Surajbhan's renewed reign of terror and the growth of his illegal activities. How Krishna frees Shantinagar from the clutches of Surajbhan, forms the crux of the film.

Did you know

• The film was promoted as a Sunil Shetty film though it had him in a guest appearance. Inder Kumar was kept out of the film's publicity.

• In 1976, Sunil Dutt was producing Ajaanta Arts "Maseeha" (Messiah) Starring Sunil Dutt,Dharmendra,Hema Malini, Rakhee (Replaced Reena Roy). Written by Gulzar, Music by Laxmikant Pyarelal, Produced and Directed by Sunil Dutt. Dutt had first planned the film in the late 60's with Leena Chandarvarkar and Mumtaz . When the film got shelved he launched Leena in Man Ka Meet . Sunil Dutt restarted it in 1976 and it was delayed for unknown reasons. He attempted to start it once again in 1979. The film once again was shelved when Nargis fell sick. Years later in 1990,Sunil Dutt wanted to make the film with Sanjay Dutt,Kumar Gaurav, Amrita Singh,Madhuri Dixit. The film was once again shelved after the announcement.

• The film was originally titled Majboor. Inder Kumar fell off a helicopter during a stunt and broke his leg. This caused the film to be delayed for a long time.
