โข This film contains the actual footage of the concert held in the Theresienstadt Ghetto by world-renowned Jewish conductor Raphael Schachter, who was ordered by the Nazis to play "Jewish music" for visiting Red Cross delegates (the Nazis believed that Jews could not comprehend or appreciate "Christian" music). Boldly defying his brutal imprisoners, Schachter had his orchestra masterfully play a Christian litany, Verdi's Requiem - a dramatic act of defiance in the face of Nazi anti-Semitism. The footage of this concert was restored and re-mastered for this movie.
โข The movie contains secret film footage taken by Jewish filmmaker Kurt Gerron, who attempted to document conditions in the Theresienstadt Ghetto before he was sent to his death in Auschwitz.
โข Contains previously unseen film of Jewish partisans blowing up bridges and railroad tracks in Nazi-occupied Russia. This footage was discovered in the Soviet Archives in 1998.
