Did you know
• After this programme was broadcast, ITV companies, and especially Yorkshire Television who made the programme, were inundated with gifts and money for "the old lady in the Yorkshire Dales" (Hannah Hauxwell) which eventually enabled her to invest in a few more cows and to have an electricity supply installed at her farmhouse. For the record, Hannah was only 46 when the programme was filmed, but appeared much older because of her harsh living conditions.
