• HBO comissioned this television pilot based on the popular book. However, the network ultimately passed on going to series.

• Noah Baumbach said in an interview with WNYC radio in 2015 that he understood why The Corrections did not continue as a series. Even though television is bigger budgeted and more ambitious than ever before, he saw in hindsight that the story of The Corrections was too ambitious for a weekly television series. He said it was very difficult to contain each episode's script with its own purpose and that the budget was as large as that of Game of Thrones, but without it clearly being seen on screen.
