⢠Executive Producer Michael Ruggerio had previously worked on The American Nightmare (2000), one of the documentaries that inspired Going To Pieces. He always said he wanted to do a sequel about the Slasher movies of the 1980's. He happened to be good friends with author Adam Rockoff. After producer Rudy Scalese optioned the book rights to Going to Pieces and befriended Adam Rockoff, Adam made an introduction to Ruggerio who was now an executive at STARZ and championed the documentary to be made.
⢠Based upon the novel of the same name by author Adam Rockoff
⢠When Director Bob Clark (Black Christmas) was getting ready to be interviewed, a PA tapped producer Rudy Scalese on the shoulder and told him director Paul Lynch (Prom Night) was in the makeup trailer and asked for him. Scalese abandoned the interview shooting for Bob Clark and ran to the makeup trailer and closed the door and told director Paul Lynch, "Tell me everything about Prom Night now!" Prom Night is one of Scalese's favorite Slasher Movies of the 1980's. Needless to say, none of the Bob Clark's interview made it in the documentary.
