• Shot in Romania, most of it was filmed in Nicolae Ceausescu's unfinished Academy of Sciences building in Bucharest.
• [at around 1h 45 mins] In the final shot, as Ben approaches the mirrored building, a little Korean girl in white with a bright pink sweater and her mother pass by the window. The characters are identical to those in the final shot of the original film, Into the Mirror (2003).
• Amy Smart had to be fed through a straw for her big bathroom scene where her character has her jaw ripped off, as she obviously was unable to open her mouth.
