• On March 24, 2015, Broken Lizard launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $2 million to produce the film. They surpassed their goal just over 24 hours later, and the movie was greenlit.

• In order to maintain continuity from the first film, director Jay Chandrasekhar refused to shoot until the original cast were at the same weight as they previously were.

• When Rabbit is getting his "privates" shaved, he yells that the shaving cream is starting to burn and asks, "Did you guys use menthol?" This is a reference to the first movie. When Rabbit was stuffed in a locker covered in shaving cream, he was actually covered in menthol shaving cream. The crew didn't know that menthol burns skin if left on too long. After the scene, Erik Stolhanske was sent next door to a firehouse to get hosed off.
