Did you know
⢠This film is considered an Ozploitation picture, an Australian exploitation movie.
⢠During the first part of the movie, John arrives at a town called Cullen. There is no such town in NSW, Australia, the actual town is called Wilcannia. The Cullen signs are props, including the "Cullen is a titty town" sign. He drives in on the Barrier Highway over the Darling River bridge, then enters Martin Street to fill up at the BP petrol station.
⢠The movie reflects the rivalry between fans of the motor vehicle makes, Ford and Holden, which is prominent in Australia. John (from the city) drives his red Ford Fairmont into a rural Australian environment that is Holden country - Roscoe, the police officer, wears a belt with Holden buckle; the petrol station owner's t-shirt proclaims the superiority of Holdens; the vehicle that spots the Ford is a Holden with the word emblazoned across its rear.
