⢠GLaDOS may be named for the real life Dr. Gladys J. Loring who was one of the psychiatrists who evaluated Mercury Astronaut candidates at Wright-Patterson. These men were put through extreme tests that pushed the boundaries of ethical testing.
⢠The development team was quite small and because of this the team utilized assets from the Half-Life universe. To avoid confusion the team decided to integrate the story of Portal into the Half-Life story.
⢠As GLADoS is being shut down, she seems to stumble on a simple math problem ("Two plus two is...ten.") but finds a way to recover ("In base four! I'm fine!"). In the novelization of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) as HAL is being shut down he also stumbles on simple math ("Two times two is...approximately four point 101010101010101010").
