• At the top of each show while The Roots are performing the theme song 'Here I Come', '?uestlove' and Tariq Trotter usually shout out the episode number during the break in the song. If the number is an area code, ?uestlove will also yell out the name of the city/region.
• According to Questlove, he was fired by Lorne Michaels after making disparaging comments about Tina Fey on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (2009). Thompson felt that Fey, a fellow Philadelphian, ignored The Roots during her appearances. Fallon begged Michaels to rehire him. Thompson and Fey later reconciled on the show by eating a "hoagie of friendship" together.
• This was the first time the "Late Night" theme song had lyrics ("Here I come").
