ā¢ One of Rick Riordan's chief complaints about Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) was the aging up of Percy and other characters to be in their late teens. As a result, when writing the pilot for this series, Riordan was particular in stating that Percy was 12 years old.
ā¢ Rick Riordan had planned to enter a semi-retirement and pursue his PhD when Disney approached him about this series. This series, in conjunction with the proposed Netflix adaptation of The Kane Chronicles, made him reconsider and ultimately delay his plans.
