• The show doesn't really have an ending, but the final fates of the characters are established (as taken from the "Baccano!" comic) as follows: * in 1933, Dallas is abducted by Huey's group so that Huey can develop his own immortality elixir * in 1934, Ladd, Firo and Isaac are separately arrested and sent to Alcatraz prison, where they finally meet and befriend each other, and encounter Huey, who is incarcerated there for bombing a government office that researched-developed military weaponry * in the 1970s, Maiza and Czeslaw go on a voyage to reunite the other remaining Immortals since Slizard, the reason they split up, no longer exists; they finally return to the (still-around) Martillo family in 2001 * during Maiza's voyage, he tracks down Sylvie Lumiere and Elmer Albatross (the only unrelated Immortals seen in the show; the other Immortals appear only in the manga) * in 2002, Firo and Ennis finally marry after living together for seventy years * around 2002 Jacuzzi and Nice have a great-grandson named Bobby * Claire and Chane have two great-grandchildren named Claudia and Charon Walken (circa unknown) * and in 2001, Isaac and Miria, who have stayed with the Martillos since 1932, finally realize they are Immortal.
• The word "baccano" is Italian for "ruckus."
• Ryôgo Narita did not create a detailed storyline, but instead focused on the characters and how they would interact and impact on the original plot/storylines. Although he allowed the characters to "move how they want", he found it troublesome since some characters were hard to move along with the plot and other characters "moved too much, leaving the plot in ruins."
